Do we have a Dystopian Future?
Do you love The Handmaid’s Tale and Elysium? Do you enjoy watching or reading the dystopian horrors of a society where women or Humanity is enslaved, oppressed and exploited by a totalitarian regime? Do you find it thrilling to see the struggles of the few who dare to resist and fight for their freedom and dignity?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are part of the problem.
The Handmaid’s Tale is not a story to be loved. It is a tale to be feared. It is a story that depicts a possible future that could become our reality if we do not act now. It warns us of the dangers of fanaticism, misogyny, authoritarianism and environmental degradation. It is a tale that challenges us to question our values, our choices and our actions.
What can we do?
But watching or reading The Handmaid’s Tale is not enough. We cannot just sit back and enjoy the drama while the world burns around us. We cannot just hope that someone else will save us from the nightmare that awaits us. We cannot just wait for the end of the tale.
We have to write our own tale. A tale of hope, not despair. A tale of cooperation, not conflict. A tale of diversity, not uniformity. A tale of freedom, not slavery.
We have to create our own future.
The Future
A future where everyone is valued, respected and empowered.
A future where everyone has access to basic needs, rights and opportunities.
A future where everyone can pursue their passions, talents and purposes.
A future where everyone can live in harmony with nature and each other.
We have to build our own ark.
An ark that will protect us from the floods of chaos, violence and injustice.
An ark that will preserve us from the fires of hatred, greed and ignorance.
An ark that will nurture us with the waters of knowledge, creativity and compassion.
An ark that will transport us to the stars of discovery, innovation and enlightenment.

Aiding Rejuvenation 4 Kommunities (ARK) is a nonprofit organization that is building Communities, above and below ground as needed, for bees, butterflies, plants and people. ARK’s mission is to create community spaces that are sustainable, resilient, adaptable and accessible for all forms of life.
ARK’s vision is to create a network of community facilities that will support various activities, such as:
Beekeeping and honey production
Animal sanctuaries and terrariums
Butterfly gardens and plant nurseries

Hydroponic and aquaponic farming
Waste management and composting

ARK’s goal is to create a Star Trek future for humanity. A future where we have overcome our challenges and achieved our potential. A future where we have reached the stars and beyond. A future where we have joined the galactic community and learned from other civilizations.
